About the Founding Clinician
Hello! Welcome to G.R.A.C.E to Evolve! I hope to partner with you and assist you along your journey to heal, grow and evolve. I believe that I was created for this purpose and called to this profession. I have always had a heart to care and a passion for helping others. In 2014, I graduated with honors from Wichita State University and earned my Bachelor’s in Social Work with a minor in Psychology. During my undergraduate practicum experience, I spent time learning about the cycles of abuse and advocating for battered women at a domestic violence shelter. Then, in 2017, I was awarded my Master’s in Social Work. I am currently licensed by the State Board of Oklahoma as a Clinical Social Worker. My professional background includes being a self-published author, a college professor and I have a wide range of experience from public safety to social service. However, I find it most fulfilling when I can encourage, empower, motivate, and uplift others. I believe that my unconventional upbringing as a teenage mother combined with my strong spirituality and love for God lends to my ability to connect with and relate to diverse groups of people from various walks of life.
Introduced to Christ by my grandmother at a young age, I wholeheartedly believe that there’s a space where prayer, spirituality, and psychotherapy can coexist creating overall holistic healing and wellness. In addition, I believe that it is our innate human desire to be the best version of ourselves, however, we don’t always have the proper knowledge or tools to do so. G.R.A.C.E to Evolve was created to be that space where you can safely develop that skill set while you explore and begin to heal past traumas, hurts, and the complex layers of your life. As a culturally-sensitive practitioner, I enjoy working with diverse groups of people and value the unique differences of God’s children. I’ve developed a strong love for client advocacy, holistic wellness and teaching those that I serve how to prioritize self-care. Together, we will work to build a therapeutic alliance that not only promotes growth and healing but also gives you room to safely be…you!
A critical yet innovative thinker, I enjoy bringing creative interventions to the therapeutic environment, “thinking outside the box” and developing/employing new approaches to accomplishing the task at hand. In the clinical setting, I utilize integrative approaches including mindfulness, person-centered, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapies, and of course, the G.R.A.C.E model. As a Certified Trauma Professional, my treatment specialties include complex trauma, stress management, navigating grief, prioritizing self-care, relationship harmony, developing interpersonal skills, managing anxiety, battling depression, life transitions, and restoring self-worth. I am passionate about women’s health and working with minorities to dispel the myths and taboos associated with seeking mental health treatment. I am currently serving adolescents and adults aged 15 and up.
